Linux/Unix is operating systems specially designed for hackers and cyber security specialist. You can't imagine hacking without using Linux/Unix system. If you are using Windows/Mac than you should move on to Linux/Unix, because you are going to become an expert ethical hacker.
You can run two operating systems at the same time through virtual machine. Suppose you are a windows user, you want to use windows and also you want to use kali linux too. In that case you can download virtual machine in your windows system and run kali linux inside that virtual machine. You will have your main operating system windows, but you also can run kali linux like other normal windows application.

Step 2: Learn Programming Languages
Programming Language is the only process by through you can communicate with your computer system. There have a lot of programming languages now-a-days. But don't worry... You don't have to learn all of them. You Just need to learn those few languages I mentioned below.

- HTML - Intermediate/Expert
- Javascript - Basic/Intermediate

As a Expert Hacker you have to learn how to be anonymous on the internet. Anonymity is also a important part of hacking. As a hacker, you can do a lot of things. Sometimes those task are legal and sometimes those task has to be illegal. You have to anonymous on those time, as though no one can trace you and caught you. So you have to learn how to be anonymous on the internet.

Step 4: Learn Networking Concept
Believe me, Knowing Networking concept are very important in cyber security field. When I started learning on ethical hacking,
I didn't used to know anything about networking. And I was just freaking out by watching all of those hacking concept. Because there have more than 70% hacking techniques connected with networking.
So to become an expert in ethical hacking you have to familiar with the networking concept. Otherwise everything will go over your head. I am not saying that you have to become an expert in networking, you just have to take an idea of all of those concepts and then you will learn by doing nothing just google searches.
Step 5: Explore The Hidden Web
Believe it or not, we only see 10% of the web from the whole internet. The remaining 90% is the Dark web or hidden web. As a hacker, you have to explore the hidden web. Hidden web are not visible to publics, but as a hacker you have to able to go outside of the ring. For exploring the dark web you have to use a anonymity browser named "TOR". Step 6: Learn Cryptography
Cryptography is called "The art of secret writing". It is one of the coolest and important part in the cyber security. You have to be had an deep knowledge about cryptography to be an expert in hacking.
In simple word, Cryptography means encrypting and decrypting. Cryptography is used to secure any data, make confidentiality. It also used to authenticate or ingrate any data. As we mentioned above, as an ethical hacker, you have to protect peoples data. So you will protect data using cryptography in some aspects. So you obviously have to learn about cryptography.
Step 7: Dive Deep Into Hacking
So we have learn all of the topic mentioned above, right? Now its time to take a deep breathe and dive into the real hacking.
Now we have to learn SQL Injection, XSS, LFI, RFI, CSRF, Shell Uploading, Code Injection, Wireless Access Gaining and many more. And those are the main topics of hacking.
You can take a look at OWASP TOP 10 VULNERABILITY, to understand most common vulnerabilities. You have to research on all of them, you have to google or bing those topic, you have to watch tons of youtube videos on those topics. You can't be a hacker in a day. So you have to practice a lot on those topics.
